A Parade of Nations on ice takes place this Friday and Saturday at the outdoor rink at Lansdowne Park courtesy of the Delegation of the European Union to Canada.
Representatives of EU member states will be on the ice at 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday for the parade, which is expected to be a highlight of the delegation’s inaugural Winter Skating Activation.
Winterlude’s mascot family, the Ice Hogs, will also be on hand, and members of the public are welcome to join the fun.
The EU-sponsored, pre-Winterlude party runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Also in operation during the two-day event will be a European Union Cafe, described as “rustic sanctuary at the rink’s edge.”
The rink is located at 1525 Princess Patricia Way, east of the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park.
