Five countries of the European Union intend to investigate the reasons for the record jump in gas prices in Europe. That’s it information appeared on Tuesday 5 October in a joint statement by France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Romania and Greece, which Bloomberg journalist Javier Blas posted on the social network “Twitter“.
EU launches investigation into gas prices
The statement states that “one should understand why the current European gas market contracts turned out to beios insufficient”.
Countries also called for common rules on gas stocks in Europe to mitigate price spikes. In addition, they suggested better coordination of purchases to improve overall positions.
The document notes that this is a joint statement by the Ministers of Economy and Finance of the aforementioned countries.
