Report for European Parliament says EU R&I programme’s protections are “weak” and need strengthening
The EU has been urged to assess policy options for defending academic freedom based around its research and innovation programme, amid increasing political threats.
The recommendation came in a report prepared for the European Parliament as requested by its Panel for Future of Science and Technology. Published on 13 June, the report written by Brigida Blasi of the University of Bari in Italy is the final one in a series on the topic.
