Gyms encouraged to open doors for European Week

Must read

All around Europe, as part of the European Week of Sport, fitness centres and clubs are being invited to open their doors for people to use their facilities and try their activities free of charge tomorrow, designated as the European Fitness Day of 2016.

These events see Malta joining all the European member states to take part in the #BEACTIVE Campaign. The European Week is an initiative led by the European Commission to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. This initiative, in its second edition, continues to generate new activities while building on already existing successful ones.

It aims to promote participation in sport and physical activity regardless of age, background or fitness level, bringing together individuals, public authorities, the sport movement, civil society organisations and the private sector.

The following places have subscribed to this initiative at the time of going to print: 24/7 Fitness Clubs in San Ġwann and Mellieħa; S Fitness Studio in St Paul’s Bay; Ta’ Qali Health and Fitness Centre; Wi Zumba in San Ġwann; Westin Workout Fitness Studio in St Julian’s; The Spotter Fitness Studio in Luqa; Pathways Method in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq; Malta Self Defence Academy in Fleur De Lys; Spartan Kettlebells in St Julian’s; Wushuky club (WSK Kick Boxing) in Mosta; Reflex Total Fitness at the Hotel Fortina in Sliema; and Free My Me in Sliema.
