Twitter is under threat
The head of the ministry says Twitter “plays an important role in public debate” but it contains widespread misinformation, which it calls a serious problem for democracy. “We cannot risk that this will affect our public debate,” the minister believes.
Earlier, Twitter pulled out of a voluntary agreement with the EU to fight online disinformation, but kept some of its commitments. We remind you that the new ones will come into force on August 25 rules, in particular on the “obligation to remove illegal content” and the “prohibition of advertising aimed at minors”.
